Thinking green is in! Or so seems from the activities of my friends. If Mitanshu and his friends have launched an online campaign called Green 1.0, Trina has done something even more spectacular. She won a British Council competition and was one of the four Indians chosen as Indian ambassadors to the International Climate Champions 2009, a youth-oriented programme aiming ‘to inspire young people, especially students, to spread the word about climate change, its effects and what can be done to mitigate them.’ This earned her an all expenses paid trip to Scotland where she had to join other participants from over 14 countries in a workshop. Here is a complete coverage of the workshop on the Times of India. However, it was definitely not ‘all work and no play’! Take a peek into her Facebook album and you will know what fun time they must have had and she even managed to buy a kilt from Edinburgh!

Lol…this is quite a surprise :D thank u nipoN!
Hehe… and what a hot kilt at that!
Doing this stupid things & wasting time won’t do any good…if those organizers could donate the expense behind these brouhahas to private & govt. research orgs etc. instead of some cheap & short lived fame the result would be more productive.
To nurture ‘green thinking’ is important. And that should begin right at schools and colleges. It is important that students are encouraged to think green. Having the right mindset helps. Researches can find an alternative to CFC in ACs but unless each one of us develops the mentality to switch of the lights when not in use, all efforts will be futile. Programmes like this aim at that. The people at the British Council are no fools.
