2nd October is an auspicious day for Indians. We are remembering our leader — the Father of the Nation–Mahatma Gandhi on this day.
I however cannot show much respect to Gandhi, his lovers dont mind. While his philosophy of Satyagraha and non-violence has earned the praise of one and all, I cant help criticising, among other things, the anti-Subhashchandra stance that he had deliberately adopted. He opposed Netaji just to maintain his supremacy in theCongress and nothing else! Nasty politics that he had played. So much so that Netaji Subhashchandra Bose had to resign from Congress and start his independent platform Forward Bloc.
While Gandhi did good in awakening the masses against the British misrule, it would not have been possible without Netaji’s continuous armed struggle for India to attain independence. I strongly feel that if we had Subhashchandra among us in 1947 India could not have been partitioned –anyway forget partition, at least if he was there after independence, India would have developed much better and much faster because Netaji is the greatest leader India has ever had.
