Tucchho Celebrations At Music World

by Nipon on January 27, 2009

Music band Cactus today reached out to its fan base at Music World, Park Street. They got up-close and personal with the fans giving away autographs and freebies. The event was to mark the overwhelming success of Tucchho, the latest album from them. Since its release in September 2008, Tucchho has sold over 7000 copies. Now that is no mean figure in this age of music piracy and economic recession. There were surprise gifts in store for folks who grabbed a copy of Tuccho. Spines members were also entitled to a freebie. The informal get-together started at 4.30 and the tempo was high all throughout! As ardent Cactus fans, we had to be there and got a few snaps.

Narendrapur Exhibition 2009

by Nipon on January 25, 2009

Today I happened to be at the annual fest of Narendrapur RK Mission School. Went there with a classmate who is an alumnus. It was indeed a great experience. To see the exhibition put up by the youngsters was a real treat. The extravaganza of science, arts, language and culture had our senses overwhelmed.  The scientific models set up spoke volumes of the creative energy of the school kids, not to mention the hard toil they endured in putting up the ceiling-high charts and figures. There was a staggering collection of paintings which were really impressive and left me spellbound. In the Maths room, a little boy had enough numeric tricks up his sleeve to baffle our now-medical minds!
