An Evening Full of Adda!

This Bengali New Year, I was home and a visit to  home could never be complete without a Lawrencians meet. It was last Monday evening that I met Chadu and Nass. Nass & I were supposed to be at Chadu’s place at 5. But I woke up at 6, to the prolonged buzzing of my cellphone – it was Chadu calling! Blame it on the heat for sleeping till late. I got ready asap and caught up with them at 6.37! I was pleased to find out how the air had cooled down and a pleasant wind was blowing. Lucky me :)

Chicken Supremo Pizza, Club Sandwich & Coke from Dominos Stepping in, I found Nass and Chadu huddled in front of the desktop. After I had taken out my portable hard disk and the initial excitement of exchanging movies had cooled off, our adda began. We ordered pizzas from Dominos and kept talking. The talking point was Arka’s tragic death (TOI), studies, blogging. We also talked about gadgets and Chadu kept flaunting his brand new iPod which he got as a prize from Yahoo in a Twitter contest! :D Then the pizza delivery boy came! :D After we were finished eating the pizza and sandwich and washed it down with coke, we found our appetite had only increased!

I proposed moving to CCD and once there we ordered a Kaapi Nirvana each. It was the perfect setting to continue with our adda. There was hardly any crowd, we could burst into loud guffaws and laughters uninhibitedly, and the place not being crowded we could sit as long as we wanted. We talked about everything under the sun. Nass shared all his internship stories. He is currently going through his surgery rotation. Chandradeep and I convinced Nass to watch Mirakkel – at least to watch Farzana Sagir Sashi (video link) perform, if nothing else! (This sweet and bubbling-with-energy girl from Bangladesh with her accent and style is clearly a star performer in the 5th season of the comedy show!) Soon our adda took a different turn and we discussed spirits, sixth sense and planchet. I had to tell a full story on spirits – one that I have already told to many friends – which Nass had not heard it and Chadu was eager to listen for the second time. Nass said that he wants to write on Bong Buzz and he plans to post his medical experiences.

At this point we got lost into a conversation, which was very stimulating but also quite depressing, on the health situation in west bengal – especially the government setup. All of us agreed on each and every point. Even after we left CCD and it was past 10 we were talking like there was no tomorrow, standing on the road. Finally Nass had to leave. I also took my route but Chadu waited till i got into an auto and during the brief wait we never stopped talking! LOL
