As here we are talking about technology in general I would like to share something too
Like spider man says
"With great power comes great responsibilities"
We need to realize what is the threshold that we need to set after which we don't let the technology take control of our lives.
My net was not working for the whole last month and still I survived it and now when it has again started working i spend almost my whole day here.
I think we all need to realize the difference between want and need.

No thats a Bong name! Pronounced as Sayok. He is a Lawrencian, a year senior to me. Guess what, I hardly talked to him in school though both of us knew we were good students :D But that was that. It is only the internet that brought us closer and nowadays we are in good touch... online!

hmm..tht was interesting. stuff i always knew and thought of but never quite knew tht there were technical terms for it!
ya like sayak (is tht a japanese name?!) said, i don't know if being a digital native is a good thing. i mean i feel much mro comfortable socialising with ppl online than in real life. i'd rather just use msn than meet up with them, although they mite me living like a km away (and there are numerous incidents if this happening to me all the time) tht's unnatural rite? i mean instead of bringing ppl closer the internet is driving ppl apart...

Hi Sayakda, it is indeed true what you say. In fact my next post is going to be on internet induced attention deficit!

I do feel that this 'used to computer thing' of ours comes for a heavy price. For instance I very often get the feeling that I waste time by chatting with friends at night with whom I spent a considerable part of the day. I also have the useless habit of going through people 's profiles in orkut, and many other things like that, which at the end of the day, make me feel very stupid. I could have spent these leisure hours reading a book, or watching a good movie, whatever it may be, but in a more useful way. Scope of getting distracted has increased quite alarmingly these days. You cannot blame the kid, who puts aside the story books or throws away the set of pastel colours, or even refuses to go out in the evening just to kill a few dozens more in COUNTER STRIKE.
