Kevin Mitnick’s website hacked

mitnickFamed hacker Kevin Mitnick’s website was hacked on last Sunday. Explicit messages were being displayed on his 4 websites defensivethinking.com, mitsec.com, kevinmitnick.com and mitnicksecurity.com . The hackers are believed to be operating from Pakistan.

Mitnick spent five years behind bars for wire and computer fraud after being caught by FBI in 1995. Since his release in 2000, he makes a living as a consultant giving speeches on security matters and writing books about hackers. The film “Takedown”, directed by Joe Chappelle was made on basis of his life-story.

“The Web hosting provider that hosts my sites was hacked,” Mitnick told CNET News.com in an interview on monday. He said that he would switch Web hosting providers only if his site gets hacked continuously.

And wonder it’s done as part of hacking activites since Lebanon vs. Isreal war…Guys, change your sites password if that too old…and try to update your scripts if you have Forum/Blog etc…

ok…i dunno too much about computers n the internet n stuff. so pls explain to me wut the Lebanon-Israel war has to do with hacking of email accounts n sites. i’ve heard this earlier as well…this connection between wars, terrorist activities and hacking…but really wut is the connection?

In the past,Pakistan-based hacker groups have been known to be involved in anti-US activities.
Probably,Omar Osmaan referred to that.

Cinthia is right, but not only Pakistan-based hacker groups there are lots from Rasia, china, Europe who joins and active with hacker groups during the war. It’s because they wants to say ‘war is not fair’ though what they do is fair? American or European peoples don’t hadac about any war unless they effected, so hackers do that!

Anyway, I saw a lot hacker activities, effected sites last few days…I knew and learned that if there any war specially in the middle east then sure there will be hacker attempt, no doubt…Better tune-up the security yourself for your site, email etc before they hack it!
